BCAC Football Starts With Home Season Opener

By Margaret Wagner

The BCAC Football program starts this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the BCAC Memorial Field. It is BCAC Football Jersey night. This year, Commissioner Brian McMahon reports the rosters are full.

This year, the BCAC sponsors 5 teams in the Nassau/Suffolk Football Cheerleading Association: Peanuts 5 & 6 year olds, pee wee’s 7 & 8, the midgets 9 & 10, the pony’s 11 & 12 and the seniors 13 & 14’s.

Brian has been busy running back and forth to meetings and practices getting this season ready. This year, the football committee will be dedicating this year’s season to Mr. Willy Wiese. There will be more on the dedication to follow in next week’s article. BCAC parents & coaches have been preparing the kids and the fields for the upcoming season despite going through the problems of mosquitoes on the field. These pesky bugs did not stop the Shamrocks from practicing as the kids have been on the field since August.

The BCAC Shamrock cheerleaders will be cheering on the boys at all their home games. They have been practicing with their coaches Michelle Kenny and Trisha Marshal. This week the Pee Wee’s are home on Saturday Sept. 11 at 7:00 p.m., so come on down and cheer on the boys in GREEN!!!

Next week, four of our teams will be home: Saturday Sept. 18th at 6:00pm will be the Ponys and at 8:00, the seniors. Sunday Sept. 19 at 10:00 a.m. the Peanuts and at 12 are the Midgets. The next BCAC meeting is October 7 at 7:45 p.m. We are looking for new members so all are welcome!!! See you on the field!
