K Of C To Dedicate WTC Cross To 9/11 Victims

The Rockaway Council #2672 Knights of Columbus at 333 Beach 90th Street Rockaway Beach, N.Y., founded in 1928, will host another milestone in its rich history with the Dedication of a Cross from the remnants of the World Trade Center on September 19.

The Cross was donated to the Council through the New York City Sanitation Department, and now stands in the Knights of Columbus parking lot facing Beach 90 Street, ½ blocks south of Jamaica Bay.

Monsignor William F. Burke, the Council Chaplin will officiate at the Dedication and Blessing. Monsignor Burke, will have been installed earlier on September 19 as the Council’s Chaplain for his 55th consecutive year. Clergy of all faiths have been invited to bear witness. The Cross will be dedicated to the memory of ALL the victims of the September 11, 2001 vicious terrorist attacks.
