It was one of the biggest turnouts for the Breezy Point Cooperative Stockholder’s meeting ever recorded.. Regretfully, two good women, who are good fighters and former Board members, Rita Shea and Noreen Schramm, publisher of the Rockaway Point News, lost. Nancy Rasmussen is the one and only woman winner to represent the female viewpoint. Congratulations to all the winners, especially Tommy Welsh, who received more votes than any candidates. May the new Board fulfill their duties ethically and with deep concern for the benefit of all Cooperative members.

A Big Blast was held for Jimmy Ruoff who retired from U.S. Customs. Congratulations, Jimmy! He was surrounded by fifty friends and family and among them: Eddy Ruoff, Joe Kilbride, Tom Coady, Bob Zelek and Pat (Toots) Sammon,. Bob O”Brien? No. What happened to Bob O’Brien??

Everyone was asking for him.

Kennedy’s sure is a great spot for parties. Last week a wedding and this week a wedding shower for Kimberly Perez who will become Mrs Joseph Allocco, Jr. on Oct. 23, 2004 The groom’s parents, Rita and Joseph Allocco are from Neponsit and the bride’s parents, Rose and Antonio Perez are from Antonio, Texas Best of luck and happiness.

So many shows at the Javit’s Center this week. At the Children’s Club I found the cuddly Sleep Sheep, manufactured by Cloud B of Body Sleep. As the baby cuddles the sheep it plays soft beautiful sounds of the wind, waves and whales to lull baby to sleep. My little grandchild, Beth. will enjoy this. It sells for about $35 to $45 and is a must for baby’s bedtime. You may have seen it on TV when I displayed it. M. N. Bird had the most beautiful shocking pink bikini and a seer sucker hat for the beach. So many marvelous items, can’t mention them all. At the intimate show, I got a good look at the “Natural” Bra to enhance young figures. They even have Angel’s bra that has wings to give a breast uplift. If you are a cup C and under these bra’s are a good way to attain cleavage without surgery. And I am all for enhancement without surgery.

This reminds me ….to thank Joan Kelly whom I met at the supermarket for her compliment on my rejuvenated face. She said her friends told her how well I look now. It is all due to INVISILIFT, folks, a non-surgical facelift performed by Dr. Kelly O’Malley Mattone, MD in her Great Neck office through Ultrasound at very affordable prices and without pain and no downtime. You can fall asleep, as I did, as she uses the ultra sound on your face. I am just thrilled about it and wish all of you could take advantage of it. Great Neck is not that far from any of you and, believe me, it is well worth while. Six treatments and, VOILA! I have only had three and already results can be seen. And, it lasts for years. For the computer savvy: www.invisilift.com Check it out and give her a call. Guaranteed you will love it.

A fabulous function was held on the Intrepid for MS, that horrible disease that still needs a great deal of research. Young and old came from all over. Met some lovely girls from Queens. Some years they do come as far as from the Rockaways to enjoy the music, food and beverage including unusual cocktails stations on the main deck and flight deck, so beautiful on a summer night under the stars. Lots of dancing, mingling and good fun. Do make it next year!

A new fantastic restaurant opened last week at 155 East 42 St between 2nd and 3rd Aves. Called the Capital Grille that hosted Share Our Strength, the organization that feeds the homeless around the city. They served an over abundance of shellfish: lobster, oysters, clams and shrimp.

The Japanese Hotel Kitano on Park Ave and 38 St, NYC celebrated the renovation of all their rooms and are focusing more on American business men than Japanese businesses although they do have one authentic Japanese suite and authentic Japanese restaurant. When the hotel first opened I took my sons, Kevin and Jimmy for dinner in their Garden Restaurant off the lobby and it was superb, not only the food but the service. Stop in when you’re in the city. Friday, Sept. 10th the Philippe Sisse Acoustique Trio are performing in The Bar Lounge 9-m No Cover, Minimum is $10.

At the opening of a new Asian/ Fusion Restaurant, Pacific Echo, at 243 West 56th St., I met composer (Take me to Jamaica….)” Irving Fields who wrote my theme song and theme song for the Golden Girl Pageant ” Ms. Golden Girl” . He was there with his darling, adorable wife and we chatted about reviving the Ms Golden Girl Pageant……….One of these days I’ll get to it again.
