    Catherine Donelan

    Marketing Administrator

    Catherine Donelan, a long time Breezy Point resident who lived in Stony Point, New York, died on August 26.

    Donelan, who was born in Camden, New Jersey, was a parishioner at St. Thomas More. She worked in the marketing industry as an administrator.

    Donelan was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Fitzpatrick.

    She is survived by her husband, Kevin Donelan; mother, Ruth Galligan; son, Kevin Donelan; daughter, Megan Donelan; brothers, Danny and Denis Fitzpatrick; and sister, MaryPat Hickey.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.

    Daphne Mary Gayle

    Nurse’s Aide

    Daphne Mary Gayle, who worked in Rockaway for several years, died on August 24. She was 62.

    Gayle, who was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies, was a parishioner at St. David’s Episcopal Church. She worked as a nurse’s aide.

    Gayle is survived by her brothers, Jack and Aston George; sisters, Gloria, Muriel and Shirley; and other family members and friends.

    Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home. A service was held at St. David Episcopal Church in Cambria Heights. Disposition was at Oxford Hills Crematory.

    Leon Harper

    Lifelong Resident

    Leon Harper, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died on August 25. He was 57.

    Harper, who was born at Rockaway Beach Hospital, served in the United States Army. He later was a sanitation worker.

    Harper is survived by his daughter, Latricia Harper; son, Leon Harper Jr.; stepdaughter, Ashanti McNeil; granddaughter, Layanna Harper, sister, Coilda Harper; three aunts; three uncles; and other family members and friends.

    Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home, with a service at Gaffney’s Friendship Chapel. Disposition was at Calverton National Cemetery.

    Rose Lamison

    Teacher

    Rose Lamison, a Rockaway resident for about 60 years, died on August 29. She was 70.

    Lamison, who was born in Queens, was a parishioner at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Far Rockaway. She was a teacher.

    Lamison was preceded in death by her children, Deborah “Debbie,” Irving “Bruce,” Leroy “Junior” and Ernest “Larry”; parents, Irving and Harrie; sister, Katherine Jackson; and brothers, Pete, Gene and Blinky.

    She is survived by her husband, Ernest; daughter, Phyllis Lamison-Johnson; son, Jeffrey; son in law, Roy Johnson; grandchildren, Debra Ingram, Starasia Lamison, Lichole Cameron, Jasmine, Kiara, Jeffrey Jr., Jayquan, Jahvaun Lamison and Laniyah Johnson; grandson in law, Norbert Ingram; great grandchildren, Briyana, Anita, Danasia, Emanuel and Malik; the entire Williams family; and other family members and friends.

    Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home. A service was held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Disposition was at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn, New York.

    Genario Rea, a resident of Belle Harbor, died on August 31.

    Rea, who was born in Brooklyn, was a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales. He worked in the construction industry as a mason contractor.

    Rea is survived by his wife, Concetta Greco Rea; daughter, Antoinette Battaglia; sons, Jerry Rea Jr. and Marco Rea; daughter, Connie Ricciardi; sisters, Antoinette Filippo and Lolly Tabins; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

    Donna Dora Robinson

    Home Health Aide

    Donna Dora Robinson, a resident of Arverne for 30 years, died on August 26.

    Robinson, who was born in Trinidad & Tobago, was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima. She worked as a home health aide.

    Robinson was preceded in death by her son, Vernon Robinson and sister, Juanita Hinds.

    She is survived by her husband, Hubert Robinson; daughters, Angela Akerele, Merle Gunn, Monica Johnson and Jennifer Robinson; sons, Calvin and Hugh Robinson; sisters, Sylvia Francois and Emelda Small of Trinidad & Tobago; a brother, Michael Hinds of England; 13 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

    Linda Diane Stokes-Robertson

    Linda Diane Stokes-Robertson, who lived in Far Rockaway for more than a decade, died on August 26. She was 52.

    Stokes-Robertson, who was born in Sanford, North Carolina, was a housewife.

    She was preceded in death by her brother, Firmus Stokes Jr.

    Stokes-Robertson is survived by her husband, Richard Robertson; daughter, Ida; son, Paul; aung Minnie McLeod; uncles, John Jr. and Frank Stokes; sisters in law, Patricia Robertson, Anna Victoria Robertson, Mildred Martinez and Naima Abdullah; brothers in law, Bernardo Martinez, Michael Robertson and Todd Robertson; sisters through Christ, Theresa Mitchell, Gloria Rodgers, Dorothy Turner, Shelley Lipsey, Beverly Townsend and Ronnie Merrell; cousins, Stanley Corier, Reggie Canady, Charlene Stokes, Robin Stanley, Melvin McLeod; favorite nephew, Lafayette “Poochie” Grier; and other family members and friends.
