Pair Busted For Coke On Beach 116

Two men were arrested on Beach 116 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard last week when undercover officers allegedly saw them make a cash-for-cocaine exchange on the busy street corner in broad daylight.

Undercover narcotics officers said Charles Halsey, 51, and Milton J. Suarez, 36, made the exchange – cash for four bags of cocaine – at about 4:15 p.m. last Wednesday.

Halsey, of 180 Beach 117 Street, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. He pled guilty to a lesser charge and was sentenced to time served at his arraignment in Queens Criminal Court last Thursday, according to a spokesperson for District Attorney Richard A. Brown. His driver license was also suspended.

Suarez, of 144 Beach 144 Street, is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. Judge Joseph Zayas released Suarez on his own recognizance at his arraignment. He is due back in court on September 29.
