Weiner Wants Mets Back on Cable

A lifelong Mets fan, Representative Anthony Weiner, urged Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig to intervene in the Time Warner/Cablevision contract dispute that has removed the Mets from Time-Warner cable lineup.

“The baseball commissioner has fundamental responsibility to act for the good of the game,” said Weiner. “Letting diehard Mets fans fall prey to a dispute between two media giants would be an error of Bukner-esque proportions. Let’s play ball.”

The Mets once aired on the Madison Square Garden Network (MSG) and Fox Sports New York (FSNY). Both are Cablevision networks that aired on Time Warner, but because of the contract dispute, Time Warner no longer airs MSG or FSNY.
