Rosa Lee Edmonds
Rosa Lee Edmonds, a Rockaway resident for about 30 years, died on July 20. She was 79.
Edmonds, who was born in Greenville, South Carolina, was a parishioner at St. John’s Baptist Church, in Arverne, then at Hope Missionary Baptist Church, in Rockaway Beach and was a member of the Usher Board. She worked as a Nurse’s Assistant.
Edmonds was preceded in death by her husband Fred Edmonds.
She was survived by her daughters, Judy Knight, Veloney Williams and Eloise Pearson; sons, Dawud Abdurrrahman, F. Alphonso Edmonds and Ralph L. Edmonds; 18 grandchildren; 80 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; daughter in law, Shakurah Abdurrrahman; four brothers in law; seven sisters in law; six uncles; four aunts; and other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home. A service was held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Disposition was at Amityville Cemetery.
Michael W. Regan
Michael W. Regan, a lifelong Rockaway Park resident, died on July 27.
Regan, who was born in Brooklyn, was a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales. He was retired from his work as a stockbroker on the American Stock Exchange.
Regan was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Ann Regan.
He is survived by his sons, Christopher and Michael Regan; daughters, Rita Regan and Coleen Stenger; sister, Cynthia Allen; brothers, John and Robert Regan; granddaughters, Alexa and Rebecca Stenger; grandson, Adam Stenger; loving companion, Marguerite Benway; and many nieces and nep-hews.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, from 2-5 and 7-10 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales on Saturday at 9:45 a.m.
Mother Sadie Stevens
Mother Sadie Stevens, a Rockaway resident for more than 80 years, died on July 12. She was 93.
Stevens, who was born in Augusta, Georgia, was a parishioner at the Kelly Temple Church, in Far Rockaway, where she was an usher for more than 30 years. She was a domestic worker.
Stevens was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Stevens; daughter, Elizabeth; and grandson, Norman Williams.
She is survived by her grandson, Alan M. Williams; great grandchildren, Bruce Smith, Cory, Jarmin and Devon Williams; great great grandchildren, Shalanda Darnel, Dante Smith and Mekhi Williams; and other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home. A service was held at Living Rock Christian Center, in Far Rockaway. Disposition was at Forest Park Cemetery, Morganville, New Jersey.
William Henry Warren
William Henry Warren, who worked in Rockaway for about 15 years, died on July 21. He was 73.
Warren, who was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a cook.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, John and Adelaide (Murray) Warren.
He is survived by his wife, Olivia; daughters, Veronica V. Johnson (Everton); Valerie V. Ali (Mansur) and Vivian V. Warren; sons, Victor E. Warren (Marla) and Valentino V. Warren (Kisa); grandchildren, Christian and Timothy Johnson, Nykemah X. Warren, Eesaa, Hassaan and Aliyah Ali, Khagji, Valentino JJ and Kezia Warren; and other family members and friends.

Walter J. Ward Jr., a lifelong Rockaway Beach Resident, died on July 22.
Ward, who was born in Far Rockaway, was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Ward.
Ward is survived by his father, Walter J. Ward Sr.; sister, Catherine A. Ward; and brothers, Richard and Steven Ward.
