Breezy Point Par Tee News

By Doris Neimeth

On July 15th, the Dolls and Guys Tournament turned out to be a great success with 76 golfers participating in a foursome Best Ball play off. Our own Franny Jamin catered the Luncheon at the Catholic Club with 97 in attendance. A special thank you to Vera Lynch and Millie Donnelly for making arrangements that included decorations and securing trophies for the winning teams.

The red, white and blue (America) theme was prominent throughout the club with a large American Flag hanging near the buffet table. Our entertainment included jokes by Dick Mahan (Helen encouraged Dick to get up, as you all know how shy Dick is!)  and Ed Deacy sang New York, New York, WHAT A VOICE!!!.

Happy Birthday was sung for Barbara Caramelli who celebrated her 39th year; she received a great gift by winning the 50/50. Bernie Monahan, chair of the men’s golf league, announced that Night on the Green will be Aug. 21st at the Catholic Club, cost of $30.00 per person which includes an open bar, dinner and music.

Folks (golfers and friends) are encouraged to make up tables and call Bernie and Betty Monahan with the number attending at 945-0013. Congratulations Bea Sharrock on your Hole In One on green 2. The winners: First Place Team, Joe and Kay Miller, Bernice and John Carroll - 46.  Tie for Second Place, Pam and Danny Armour, Gail and Gene Cliford, Joan McNally and Jim McEnaney, Peg Ansbro and Artie Melrose, 47. Closest to the Pin was Rick Monk and Kay Miller.
