The Yale Alumni Club of Queens and the Five Towns held its annual installation and scholarship dinner at the home of Dr. Joseph and Judge Jean Fox of Neponsit.

The affair was attended by alumni who are members of the Alumni School’s Committee on undergraduate admissions, current Yale students who are members of the Club’s junior group and scholarship and awards recipients and their parents.

Tian Wu, a historian and facilitator of the Anime group that she founded at Townsend Harris High School, was the recipient of the Jean Caplan Fox scholarship.

Other awards were presented to Peter Gorynski, a molecular cellular developmental biologist and the captain of his baseball team at St. Francis Prep; Genna Friedenthal, a philosophy major from Lawrence High and a scientist who presented her research project at Adelphi University, and Gene Sussman from Lawrence High School, who was an INTEL Science semi-finalist. Sussman spent three years researching carcinoma at a research center at the University of South Florida Medical Center and at his high school. He placed first in Medicine and Health at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair and was awarded a scholarship from the Endocrine Society for Standing Research.
