NCYC To Host 17th Annual Fishing Tournament

Save the date and buy your bait – the North Channel Yacht Club will host its 17th annual Bluefish and Fluke fishing tournament on Saturday, August 21.

Cash prizes total $2,500. Heaviest Bluefish and Fluke get $500 each, total weight Bluefish and Fluke take home $200. There are other cash prizes for second and third-place the runners-up.

Applications are available at the club. Sign-up is on a first-come first-serve basis and is limited to 200 anglers. A captains meeting will be held on Thursday, August 19 at 7:30 p.m. All tournament rules will be discussed.

A free barbecue for all contestants and one guest each will be held at the NCYC from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the day of the event. Tournament organizer Charlie Arnemann will be the master of ceremonies.

The NCYC is located at 1622 Church Road, Broad Channel – behind the public library at 17 Road and Cross Bay Boulevard.
