Robert Howard Blackman, who worked in Rockaway for about 10 years, died on July 2. He was 57.

Blackman, who was born in Essequibo, Guyana is survived by his wife, Margaret Blackman; sons, Lyndon, Roger and Rayborn; daughter, Jennifer; stepchildren, Carl and Melissa; grandchild, Lance Blackman; brothers, Sam, Vincent and Joseph Blackman; sisters, Edith Jordan and Janice and Rhonda Blackman; former wife, Lynette Jones; and other family members and friends.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. A service was held at Robeson and Brown Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Disposition was at Amityville Cemetery.

Alfred A. Clementi
Smoking Pipe Company Prop.

Alfred A. Clementi, a Far Rockaway resident for nearly 45 years, died on July 7.

Clementi, who was born in Brooklyn, was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima. He served in the United States Army during World War II and worked in production and for a smoking pipe company.

Clementi was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline and is survived by family members, Pat and Irene and Martha.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.

Ellen M. Foley
Homemaker

Ellen M. Foley, a Rockaway Park resident for more than 25 years, died on July 5.

Foley, who was born in Brooklyn, was a parishioner at St. Camillus Church. She was a homemaker.

Foley was preceded in death by her husband, William Foley; and a brother, Jack Brady.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Fahy, Anne Reis, Gail Licata and Lynn Short; a son, John Foley; a sister, Frances Quigley; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Interment was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Marie Prysock Glenn
Homemaker

Marie Prysock Glenn, who lived in Rockaway for more than 35 years, died on July 2. She was 86.

Prysock Glenn, who was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Maggie Prysock.

Prysock Glenn is survived by her sons, Edward A. and William H., of Far Rockaway; stepdaughter, Betty Jean Hall; daughters in law, Lou Edna Glenn and JoAnn Glen, of Far Rockaway; daughter in law, Vera Glenn; brother in law, Howard McClain; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with a service at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Disposition was at Rockville Cemetery in Lynbrook.

Annie Ruth Hall

Annie Ruth Hall, who lived in Rockaway for about 10 years, died on July 2. She was 57.

Hall, who was born in Greenville, Alabama, was a parishioner at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Arverne. She worked as a secretary.

Hall is survived by her daughters, Laura and Venus; sons, Isidore and Daniel; grandchildren, David, Rickey Jr., Raisa, Ashely, little Isidore, Ariel, Aaron, Alfonso Jr. and Zaria; great aunt, Gussie Bevans; sons in law, Alfonso Bryan and Frantz Joseph; special friend, Joel; other family members and friends; and her second family at Robert Plan.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with a service at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Disposition was at Oxford Hills Crematory.

Annie Lee Miller
Bookkeeper, Health Aide

Annie Lee Miller, a Rockaway resident for more than 20 years, died on June 29. She was 62.

Miller, who was born in Boykin, Alabama, was a parishioner at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Alabama, then First Baptist Church of Far Rockaway.

She was preceded in death by parents, Rufus and Nancy Miller; son, Andy Bernard Miller; and siblings, Daniel, Freddy and Eliza.

Miller is survived by her daughter, Patricia Matthews (Curtis), of Far Rockaway; friend, Robert Davis; brothers, Rufus, Jr., Samuel, Carter and Eddie Miller; sisters, Leola Booker; Prophetess Vinia Smith, Chady Miller, Georgia Carter and Betty Miller Fostev; sisters in law, Carolyn Miller and Annie Mae Miller; brothers in law, Albert Joseph, Albert Smith, Sam Carter and Clayton Fosters; uncle, Samuel Howard; aunt, Evaleen Howard; 18 nieces; 24 nephews; 13 grand nieces; 21 grand nephews; a great grand niece; and one great grand nephew.

Patricia G. Peters
Nurses Aide

Patricia G. Peters, a Rockaway Beach resident for nearly 30 years, died on July 4.

Peters, who was born in Trinidad, West Indies, was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima. She worked as a nurse's aide.

Peters was preceded in death by her brother, Allan Gittens.

She is survived by her husband, Gladstone Beaton; daughters, Lynette Davis, Annette Peters and Janice Williams; sons, Terry and Wayne Peters and Trevour Watson; grandchildren, Desmond, Abiola, Joshua, Crystal, Jessie, Fayola, Nicole, Fayna, La Toya, Ashley and Melissa; and daughters in law, Lynette, Gail and Cheryl.

Howard Vaughn
Past Prop. Bergen Bar & Grill

Howard Vaughn, a Rockaway Point resident for 45 years, died on June 30.

Vaughn, who served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Roxbury post. He was the former proprietor of the Bergen Bar & Grill on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn.

Vaughn is survived by his family, Joan Mahar and Claire Reyes and Lorraine Hawkins.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Interment was at St. John's Cemetery.
