PHC Rehab Center Residents Visit Beach

Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation made the first of several planned beach visits recently. Friends, family, staff and administration joined more than 30 residents on the boardwalk where they spent several hours enjoying the ocean breezes, sunshine, wildlife and refreshments. Long-term resident, Mr. Eugene Austin, age 76, is particularly fond of these boardwalk outings. “I lived in Rockaway and loved the beach,” explains Austin. “These trips bring back lots of memories for me and we all really look forward to them.” The ratio of residents to staff is 1 to 1, so the residents have an opportunity to interact and get to know staff members from many different departments of the Rehabilitation Center.
