The Far Rockaway High School graduating class of 1954 held its 50th reunion on Friday, June 11 at Terrace On The Park at Flushing Meadow.

More than 150 graduates attended from as far away as Texas and California. Surprisingly, the majority of graduates still live in the metropolitan New York area including New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island.

In 1954, Far Rockaway High School was the only high school on the peninsula and many of the alumni knew each other from as far back as kindergarten.

The old high school fight song, "Hail To Far Rockaway" was sung and there was a short speech by 1954 class "Most Likely To Succeed" Carl Sloane. A benediction was then given by Dean Georges.
