You knew from the moment you took your seat in the audience at the Post Theatre last week that you were in for a fun time. And it held true with the audience participation warm up to the end of a humorously entertaining show. Accolades go to Director, Peggy Page who not only did a great job as director but played the role of Sister Robert Ann who captivated the audience with her rendition of, "I only Want to be a Star"; Sister Mary Leo, (Juliette Pannone) was a joy as the bubbly and buoyant novice nun-ballerina bouncing around the stage; Susan Hartenstein, (Sister Mary Regina) known to many Wave readers for her ‘From the Artist’s Studio’ and Publicity Director of RAA before joining the convent was the supposedly firm but, unwise Mother Superior; Nicole Mangano (Sister Amnesia) played her part well and Kathy Valentine was so authentic as a nun….maybe because she truly is …serving as Mistress of Novices traiing new recruits for the Little Sisters of Hoboken……She was our Sr. Beata, also a singing nun with CD’s to show for it. They all had wonderful voices and danced just as well. It was truly a fun and entertaining show. Many compliments to the cast and, last but not least, the musical Director, Walter Birkhold and Rob Koch on piano, Tom Ziabinger on the bass and Walter Birkhold on the drums. They were fantastic! Good show by all. Every week a new show. See live theater right in your neighborhood, at a cost it doesn’t pay to stay home. Give yourself a treat.
On the subject of shows, the Teen Parish Show will be seen this week, Thursday and Friday June 1 and 2 at the brand newly renovated Colony Theater...Try to make it! Saturday is Family Day….hot dogs, hamburgers, games for adults and kids at the Sports Field.. And, of course, Fireworks display in front of Kennedy’s on Sunday, the Fourth of July. Display your independence with a fireworks design on your nails by Janet. I’m wearing them.

At Salvatore Ferragano on Fifth Ave you will find an exhibition of Chinese Object (Dreams and Obsessions) between past and future"; new photography and video of China. It is a collaboration with the Asia Society that invites young professionals to join the Society and attend the various, interesting events held all year round.

The Young Professionals also attended the City Harvest tasting Festival at the Tribecca Rooftop (Debussy and Canal), beautiful large venue to support the City Harvest which delivers food 24 hours a day, 7 days a weeks. Last year they rescued 21 million pounds of healthy food from establishments throughout the city and across the country. It exists to end hunger in communities throughout N.Y.C.
Got a notice from Abe Hersfield who claims he can expand the Javits Center and build a new West side Stadium/without taxpayer’s money. He gets backing from the banks. He also had an innovative idea for the new WTC where he would build statues of each and every victim of the 9/11 tragedy (similar to the Terra Cotta Soldiers in Xian, China) as part of the monument and build another as high as you can go to where with the first few stories are set aside for the Stock Market and the rest for elaborate apartments….what is your comment?
