Top Students Honored At St. Edmund


The valedictorian and salutatorian were recently honored at an academic scholarship dinner at St. Edmund Prep High School in Brooklyn. Valedictorian, John Dugan, was honored for his activity as National Honor Society president, cross country and track athletics, membership of the yearbook staff and varsity basketball announcing. "My four years at St. Edmund Prep have been the best experience of my life," said Dugan. He went on to receive the Presidential Scholarship and will be attending Ithaca where he will be pursuing a career in television and radio.

Christine DeMauro was honored for her work as salutatorian. Her activities at St. Edmund Prep High School included being vice president and treasurer of the National Honor Society, being on the volleyball, captain of the varsity softball team and membership on the yearbook staff. In addition to receiving many awards, DeMauro will be attending St. Francis College this fall on a full scholarship.
