Stan Brown’s World Champion Pepper Steppers Double Dutch team from Sorrentino recreational Center will be performing at M.S. 43’s First Annual Celebration Day Festival on Saturday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For further information, contact 718-471-4818.

Sorrentino Little League

The Sorrentino Recreation Center and the City of New York Parks and Recreation Police Athletic League are holding registration for the Little League Baseball 2004 season. There will be divisions consisting of kids in the 5-8, 9-12 and 13-`15 age groups. The final registration date is Tuesday, June 15. For more information, contact Stan Brown or Robert Lindo at the Sorrentino Center at 718-471-4818. Sorrentino is located at 18-48 Cornaga Avenue.

Sorrentino Softball

The softball season is here and the 2004 City of New York Parks & Recreation Softball League Queens division has the following teams competing for top honors in their 13 and under league: Arrow, LBH, Passerelle, Roy Wilkins, Liberty (A), Liberty (B), Vic Hanson (A), South Jamaica PAL, Vic Hanson (B), and our own Sorrentino Recreation Center. Each team consists of 15 players, all games are being played at Baisley Playground Park with the playoffs for the top four (4) teams being held during the week of June 21-June 26, 2004. Coaches Stan Brown and Robert Lindo feel good about their team’s chances to advance to the playoffs.
