P.S. 114 Receives Hewlett Packard Grant

Hewlett Packard recently named 193 schools nationwide to receive more than $10 million in funding from the HP Technology for teaching grant that is designed to accelerate learning through the innovative use of technology.

Teacher Ronald Gerson who pursued the grant, was recently notified by Hewlett Packard that P.S. 114 will receive $35,000 as the school’s share of the grant. It will include five computers, five multimedia projectors, a digital camera, an office jet printer and a $500 stipend per teacher.

In addition to the grant, Microsoft will donate Office 2003 and OneNote 2003 software for use by the teachers and classes.
