Wildflowers Tour At Gateway

The National Park Service at the Gateway National Recreation Area is offering the public an opportunity to learn about wildflowers on Sunday, June 19 at 1 p.m. at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. A park volunteer will conduct a botany tour which will explore the plant life around the West Pond and upland gardens of the park.

The program is free but reservations are required. To reserve your spot for the event, call the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center at 718-318-4340. The center is located on Crossbay Boulevard in Broad Channel. Participants should bring sun/insect protection and drinking water.
