Recycling reminder: The city has given us 3 months to get back in the habit of recycling glass. Starting July 1, each violation of recycling rules (glass containers in with regular garbage) will carry a $25 fine.

At least two artists from B.C. are showing their work in the exhibit, Dialogue with Nature, currently in sTudio 7 at Fort Tilden. Additionally, there are many very wonderful paintings and photographs of scenes in places familiar to most of us, including Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge and our general area, including Rockaway beach. There are tall, slim sculptures of shore birds and fish using objects found on a beach, such as driftwood. The gallery is open to the public and there is no charge for viewing the works.

The hours are: Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Art works can be seen through the last day of the exhibit—Sunday, June 27.
