Local Artists Show In Brooklyn

Rockaway artists Arlene Cornell & Stephen Yaeger will be showing their work in the Brooklyn Watercolor Society’s group exhibition "Recent Paintings" in the Community Room of Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon Street, from June 3 through June 28.

The Brooklyn Watercolor Society has been a highly recognized, prestigious art organization in Brooklyn for over 40 years.

Cornell is a long-time member of the organization and has exhibited in numerous exhibitions sponsored by the group. Her talent in watercolor technique and presentation has invariably earned her rave reviews.

When Yaeger showed Cornell some of his watercolors (he primarily paints in oils), she thought that they were good enough to get him membership in the BWS. Last November, Yaeger submitted six of his pieces to the BWS selection committee, and was accepted as a member. This will be his first show with the group.

A brief review of the 35+ watercolors at the time they were being arranged for hanging indicates that this show will be rated as one of the finest watercolor exhibitions to be presented anywhere.

Meet and speak with the artists at the opening artists reception for the exhibition, which is to be held on Thursday June 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Refreshments to be served.
