Lady Bulldogs Win AAU Regionals

The New York City Lady Bulldogs, an 11-year-old girls basketball team, have successfully won the prestigious AAU Regional Competition for the second straight year. The Bulldogs delivered a shutout series in Staten Island (6-0) in the 3-week tournament. By winning the Regional, it grants the Bulldogs the right to compete in the national competition, which will be held in July in New Orleans.

The Lady Bulldogs are comprised of 9 amazing female athletes from Queens. The Bulldogs have played to the delight of their fans for three years. The members include Marielle Duryea, Kathryn Edwards, Kelsey Fuchs, Shana Hafeez, Jackie Kresse, Samantha LoCascio, Elise Lontos, Molly McNulty and Tara Rock. The girls are lead by head coach Mike LoCascio and assisted by Dan Edwards and Scott Duryea.

In addition to winning the Regionals, the Lady Bulldogs won the junior WNBA Tournament at Chelsea Piers. The Bulldogs were guests at the ESPN Zone during the WNBA Draft Picks. The girls appeared on ESPN and schmoozed with their favorite WNBA players.

The Bulldogs are very proud to once again represent NYC in the National AAU Basketball Competition. It’s a great experience that allows the girls the opportunity to meet and compete against the best teams in the country. The families, friends and devoted fans of the New York City Lady Bulldogs wish the girls good luck and best wishes. Stay focused, play hard and have lots of fun. We love you!!!
