Are you a woman who cares?

Or even a man who cares?

And, I am sure many men do, especially when it comes to being of assistance to those afflicted with Cerebral Palsy. Tavern on the Green was the site of a prestigious luncheon celebrating outstanding women for their super accomplishments and achievements in their professional and personal lives.

This was a very successful fundraiser for victims of Cerebral Palsy Nearly 500 women turned out to raise $300,000 for this worthy cause. Donna Hanover did a superb job as emcee.

Around the room were: Diane Sawyer, Susan Lucci, Helen Gurley Brown, Dr. Ruth Westhemier (who needed a hook to to get her away from Miss USA, Shandi Finnessey during the photo op), Law and Order’s Kathryn Chenault and other celebs were there to lend support. Special awards went to Sus Kaskel for her volunteer work and Willie Mae Goodman received the Caregiver award.

Had my first facial makeover treatment with Ultra Sound called Invisilift that supposedly replaces plastic surgery.

If this does the job of firming up (lifting those jowls) smoothing out the wrinkles, eliminating the bags, under the eyes this is the way to go, gals. No pain, no invasive surgery, only a calming soothing gel that passes over the face by sonogram. It is so pleasant I almost fell asleep. Dr. Kelly O’Malley-Mattrone, MD operates this machine. She is a Mount Sinai graduate, as is her sister Terri, who invented this great way of retaining youthful looks. Dr. O’Malley is in Great Neck and is easy to reach.

This is my first treatment. I will need one a month for six months and you can watch my progress with each one. More information is available.

Have you stopped into Hannah’s Coffee Shop in Breezy lately? According to Bob O’Brien they put out a real good dinner, far better than one would expect from a place such as that. Maybe some of you should try it. Let me know.

There was a lively discussion of Tom Brokaw’s book, "Greatest Generation" at the Breezy Point Book Club’s last meeting at St. Edmund’s Church. More than 70 were in attendance and many were WWII veterans, some who landed at Normamdy and others who fought in the Pacific. Tim Mitchel lead them all in what turned out to be a touching and teary evening. You are welcome to join anytime.

The Rockaway Theatre Group sent me a notice that they re opening their live theatre performances on May 22 at Ft. Tilden with Nunsence - a funny entertaining show.

Opening night includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and should be a great time. I wish them all a successful season. They really do a fantastic job

This leads me to some of the shows I have seen recently such as "Frozen", Tony nominated for it’s superlative actin, especially by Swoozie Kurtz (Nancy) who was absolutely marvelous not taking away from the performance of Laila Robins as psychiatrist, Agnetha and Brian O’Bryne serial killer, (Ralph).

Though a depressing subject about a 10-year-old girl kidnapped, molested, raped and killed by a serial killer who is treated by a psychiatrist and no staging except for two chairs, it is a captivating play. With forgiveness comes revenge in the end.

Some of you, I know, enjoy the Museum of FIT ( Fashion Institute of Technology).

They will be displaying drawings and prints from a special collection on view June 19 thru July 31.
