The girls of Papa’s Pizza (Rockaway Little League) came out of a tough game against Caiazzo Plumbing and Heating and won 10-9. Emily Dripchak’s third inning triple placed 3 RBI and scored on Rebecca Moers’ single, which gave Papa’s a 7-4 lead. Caiazzo fought back to tie the game at 9-9 with runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th inning.

In the top of the sixth, Papa’s Jenna Hoffman walked, Erin Tacopina singled and Cat Murphy drove in an RBI to make it 10-9. Relief Pitcher Kyra Meli clinched the win in the bottom of the sixth by striking out three batters. Annette Scotto added some flair to the game with her defense in centerfield and hit a homerun. All the girls on both team played a super game. (Pictured are the team with coaches Anthony Scotto, Elaine Scotto and Jim Hurley.)
