Stan’s Pepper Steppers, the world champion Double Dutch team from Sorrentino Recreation Center in Far Rockaway, won the 2004 American Double Dutch League (ADDL) NY State Championships. The event was held at Bellport High School in Bellport, Long Island on May 1, 2004. The Pepper Steppers won in 6 out of 12 divisions. The Pepper Steppers winnings earned them another trip to the 31st Annual American Double Dutch League World Invitational Championships in Sumter, South Carolina from June 24 – June 27, 2004.

The Pepper Steppers are the 2003 World Champions and are looking forward to retaining their crown. The sport of Double Dutch takes endurance, concentration, smooth coordination, and discipline to carry out their routines. Turners turning and jumers jumping in varied patterns and acrobatics as two ropes whiz by.

The following members, coaches, and officials are the 2004 NY State Champions: Members: Laa’Niesha Jones, Monet Davis, Alaisyia Woodard, Diedre Morrissey, Bria Drake, Jessica Alexander, Muniyra Moore, Paula Robinson, Robeisha Davis, Katherine Rocha, Terae Walker, Francois Nicolas, Cherise Bartow, Denise Clemonds, Porchia Woodard, LaQuasha Brown, Deandrea Jordan, Dominique Harris, Camilla Ensley, Camay Cardwell, Tyesha Arnette, and Derreca Bellanfante.
