Little Tots Hold Trike-A-Thon

Little Tots Hold Trike-A-Thon

On Friday April 30, Little Tots Red Wagon Universal Pre-K in Breezy Point hosted a Trike-a-thon to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The week began with officers Mike Rosenthal and Kenny Beecher of the 100th Precinct Community Affairs visiting the children and speaking to them about bicycle safety. The officers explained the importance of wearing helmets and proper clothing while bike riding. The officers also stressed the importance of wearing seat belts in automobiles and explained to the children that they should never be allowed to ride in the front seat of a car. We would like to extend our thanks to Officer Mike and Officer Kenny for their time and patience with our children. As the week progressed the children obtained sponsors to support the Trike-a-thon. On Friday at noon the children and their parents gathered with their wheels of all sorts at St. Edmunds on Oceanside. The children pedaled all the way to Fulton Walk and then back again to gather at the ball field where they received medals and bicycle licenses. The children of Little Tots Red Wagon raised close to $2,000.00 for St. Jude’s.
