Sanit Worker Charged With Harassment, Firearms

A city Sanitation worker faces weapons and harassment charges after his estranged wife led police to his unlicensed guns last Friday and told them he threatened her, according to court records.

Anne Marie Allen, of 312 Beach 90 Street, told police she was in fear of her life after her husband, Drew Allen, of 69-44 Hessler Avenue, called her cell phone and "threatened to slap the s—- out of her," according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown’s office. Officers subsequently recovered an assault weapon, a handgun, six rifles, two shotguns and two rounds of ammunition, police said.

Drew Allen is charged with aggravated harassment, harassment and two firearms counts for a pair of rifles that police say were not registered. It was not clear at press time if the weapons were stored at both addresses or if the remaining guns were unregistered.

Allen was released on his own recognizance after his arraignment in Queens Criminal Court on May 8. His next court date is May 21.
