Ronstadt, Neville At Westbury, Three Dates In May

In their first national tour together, Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville will appear at Westbury Music Fair for three performances scheduled for Wednesday May 26, Thursday May 27, and Sunday May 30th. Linda Ronstadt, along with her band, will perform her greatest rock hits in addition to performing great American standards with the American Festival Orchestra as arranged by Nelson Riddle. The evening will also include Ronstadt and Neville sharing the stage on their classic duets. The Westbury Music Fair performances are at 8 pm. Ticket are $62.50 and are available at Westbury Music Fair’s box office, select Ticketmaster locations and on line at CC.com and musicfair.com.

Linda Ronstadt began her career in 1967 with the Stone Poneys, climbing the charts with the classic "Different Drum." She has won seven Grammy’s and released thirty classic albums such as Heart Like A Wheel, Hasten Down The Wind, and several others. Ronstadt has expanded the latitudes of the pop singer, broadening the vocalist’s canvas to include country, rock n’ roll, big band, jazz, opera, Broadway, Mexican and Afro-Cuban influences. She had most success when she collaborated with once living legend, conductor, Nelson Riddle. Towards the end of Riddle’s life, together he and Ronstadt brought enormous credibility by creating three successful albums of American popular standards. This brought them critical and commercial recognition as well as several Grammy awards. Linda Ronstadt has achieved a popularity and prestige that only continues to grow.

Aaron Neville has recorded over a dozen solo albums ranging in genre from gospel to country. He won his first Grammy starting in 1989 for Best pop Duo with Linda Ronstadt for "Don’t Know Much." In the same year he won his second Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance with the Neville Brothers for "Healing Chant." The following year Neville was on a role when he won another Grammy for Best Pop Duo with Linda Ronstadt for "All My Life." Neville was honored with another Grammy in 1994 for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals with Trisha Yearwood for "I Fall to Pieces." Aaron Neville reinvents the Great American Songbook with a sure, a project he calls "precious." Nature Boy his newest album has a classy classical sound to it and features a brand new Neville-Ronstadt duet, "The Very Thought of You."
