BCAC Kicks Off Little League Parade And Season

By Margaret Wagner

The BCAC Jamaica Bay Little League kicks off their season Saturday May 8. The JBLL Board has organized a large parade from the West 17th road park down to BCAC Memorial Field, which will kick-off at 10:00am. The board has beenworking extremely hard to have all the fields ready for opening day!! Memorial Field is a private field. We are very proud of how great our field looks especially to be able to have night games for our children. This is because of all the hard work from the board & the parents who volunteered their hours.

This year the league has a new president. We are proud to have Mr. Jimmy Trudden as our new leader.  Mr. Trudden has been very busy getting this season ready and we thank him for all his time. The Grand Marshals of this year’s parade are Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer and City Councilman Joseph Addabbo.  We are thankful for their grants that help up keep our field in shape! We will also be honoring some very special people.

Mr. John Bil & Mrs. Dawn McIntyre these two individuals have gone overboard in the hours they have donated to get this season ready!! Also we honor our Sponsor of the Year, Rob & Al from the All American Deli.  As always we thank the two founders of the BCAC/JBLL who help guide of to a successful season they are Marty Feeney & Joel Miele.  Each year they help to make the league better and better!!!

Before our games begin we will have the National Anthem Sung by Mr. Bill Murray and God Bless America sung by Mr. Scott Battaglis. The day will be filled with games and team photos.

We ask all our members to support our sponsors as they support our kids.  They are:  The All American Deli, The Bay-Gul Store, Hillebrand Funeral Home, Peninsula Hospital Center Nursing Home, Miele Associates, The Wave, The Beach Club, Century 21 Channel,Sports Depot, Russo’s On The Bay, The Sunset Diner, Channel Oil, West End Realty, Breezy Point Lumber, Rohr Physical Therapy, Harbor Optics, Mr. Bill Nimmo, Kiwanis, City Councilman Joe Addabbo, Irvin Simon Photographers.
