Deputy Inspector Talamo Thanks Rockaway

Deputy Inspector Talamo Thanks Rockaway

(Charles V. Talamo, the former commanding officer of the 100 Precinct, asked The Wave to publish the following message to Rockaway residents. The Wave congratulates him on his promotion Deputy Inspector.

As the undisputed voice (as well as the eyes and ears) of the Rockaways, I am asking The Wave to help me to formerly announce to the good people of the Rockaway Communities that on Friday April 30, I was promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector of Police by the Police Commissioner, Raymond Kelly.

The Commissioner congratulated all the promotees publicly in front of our family, friends and coworkers stating that our promotions were the result of outstanding success at our assigned positions. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge publicly the debt I owe to the good people of the Rockaways without whose invaluable assistance and unsurpassed support, I would never have been able to succeed.

I thank all the good people of the Rockaways, the dedicated men and women of the 100 Precinct and all the friends I made during my tenure on the beach. There are far too many people to name here in a complete list, however you know who you are and I will thank you all personally. Without you I would not have been promoted and you have my most heartfelt appreciation.

So thanks again to the good people of the Rockaways for the tremendous support you always display for the Police Officers assigned to the 100 Precinct and your continuing commitment to improve the quality of life in the Rockaways. Captain Piekarski, the Officers, and the Community, all deserve to be congratulated on the crime reductions achieved in 2004.

I miss the Rockaways everyday but it’s going to be particularly difficult
now that the beach season is almost upon us. Have a happy and safe summer.
