Car Slips, Skips and Bushwhacks In Rain

Police Officer Sparrow inspects a green Chrysler Sebring sedan, which came to rest about 15 feet inside the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Sanctuary during Monday’s wet weather. The driver, who was identified as a 22-year-old man, was northbound on Cross Bay Boulevard when he apparently hit the large puddle that grows from the right lane in rainy weather. Witnesses said the car continued erratically for more than 50 yards, skipped the center divider downing a small tree, crossed three southbound lanes, and then jumped the curb entering the sanctuary. The driver and a younger male passenger were uninjured, police said.Police Officer Sparrow inspects a green Chrysler Sebring sedan, which came to rest about 15 feet inside the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Sanctuary during Monday’s wet weather.
