Broken Gas Main Disrupts RBB Traffic

A gas main that was broken by a construction company putting in new lines in the area tied up traffic on Rockaway Beach Boulevard at Beach 69 Street on Wednesday afternoon. Although LIPA engineers were on site, the backhoe hit the line, causing it to split open. Local residents say that this is not the first time in past months that this has happened on the same project. Pictured, Police and firefighters stand by, waiting for the main to be shit down.A gas main that was broken by a construction company putting in new lines in the area tied up traffic on Rockaway Beach Boulevard at Beach 69 Street on Wednesday afternoon.
