The product of years of study with master traditional and modern art teachers, Berman has developed his own highly original style. Many of his works were inspired by his wife’s experiences as a witness of the 9/11 tragedy. Many have won awards in New York art competitions. Some of the artwork involves reflective and meditative imagery. The viewer is taken on a journey, seen through Berman’s eyes, as he encounters the richly varied cultures and traditions in New York City. The dynamic energy and kaleidoscopic colors bursting from these works can hardly be contained within their frames, capturing the essence of their subjects and their creator.

"Jeff Berman: Art of the 21st Century" traces the evolution of the artist — from Berman’s earlier traditional works, to his purely digital photographs, through his most recent pieces that use the latest in technology and reflect his most adventurous leaps of creativity.

Entertainment at the reception includes critically acclaimed singer Lynne Yakes, who has performed leading roles with prestigious opera companies that include the Vienna State Opera under Leonard Bernstein; classical pianist Eleonor Bindman, who has performed at Carnegie Hall and various national and international venues; pianist, keyboardist and composer Igor Yahilevich, who has created scores for films and TV and performed at places such as Sweet Basil’s, The Village Gate and The Newport Jazz Festival.
