Justino Castro, a Rockaway resident for more than 50 years, passed away on March 30. He was 78.
Castro, who was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, worked as a custodian for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. He belonged to the Full Gospel Tabernacle of Edge mere and the Rehoboth Pentecostal Church.
Castro is survived by his children, Cristina, Antonio, Roberto, Juanita, Elena, David, Mark and Jeremy; wife, Adelaida; grandchildren, Paul An thony, Sonja Elena, Cheri Ann, Eve lina Ann, Tina Marie, Angelina Nichole, Antonio Jesus, Shane Lewis, Joshua Steven, Timothy Jaron, Eli, Jason Anthony, Julia Marie, David Nathaniel, Brandon Christopher and Xavier Tyee; great grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Paul and Arianna Marie.

Marie (Nee Prestigiacomo) Dare, a Rockaway Park resident for 10 years, passed away on April 3.
Dare, who was born in New York City, was a homemaker and a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales.
She is survived by her husband, William Dare; daughters, Valarie Dare and Susan Dushock; brother, Sal vatore Prestigiacomo; and grandchildren, Jessica, Brian, Natalie and Connor.

Gertrude P. Hinchliffe
Gertrude P. (Nee Prelle) Hinchliffe, a lifelong Neponsit resident, passed away on April 3.
Hinchliffe, who was born in Man hattan, was a parishioner at St. Francis de Sales Church and was also a longtime volunteer at the St. Francis de Sales school library. She was retired from her work as a teacher at Ben jamin Cardozo JHS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hinchliffe, and her brother, Charles Prelle.
Hinchliffe is survived by her son, Lawrence Hinchliffe; daughter, Sheila Hinchliffe; sister, Julia McGrath; and a grandson, Stephen Hinchliffe.

Priscilla "Chrys" McLuckey
Flight Attendant, Para.
Priscilla "Chrys" McLuckey, a Rock away resident for more than 20 years, passed away on March 10. She was 52.
McLuckey, who was born in Brook lyn, worked as a flight attendant and as a paraprofessional. She served
in the United States Army and was
a Ground Zero volunteer with the American Red Cross after Septem- ber 11.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abigail and Vidal Serrano.
McLuckey is survived by her daughter, Serajade McLuckey; grandson, David Joseph Rivera; granddaughter, Summer Jade Rivera; and a cousin, Mary Helen Villanueva.
Funeral arrangements were kept private.
Catholic School Teacher
Eleanor (Nee Boggiano) McWalters, a longtime Belle Harbor resident, died on April 1.
McWalters worked as a schoolteacher at St. Francis de Sales and St. Rose of Lima.
McWalters was preceded in death by her husband, Francis.
She is survived by her three children, Bob, Betty and Tom; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and her brother, Dr. Robert Boggiano.
McWalters was buried in New Hampshire with her husband.
Sandra Pearson, a lifelong Rock away resident and a homemaker, passed away on March 27. She was 47.
Pearson is survived by her children, Michael, Othello, Kisha and Myra; brothers, Dennis and David; sisters, Dolores, Brenda and Diana; three half-brothers; three half-sisters; and other family members and friends.

Nereida Torres, a resident of Far Rockaway, passed away on April 1.
Torres, who was born in Puerto Rico, worked as a home health care attendant.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Torres; children, Angel Luis, Juan Jr., Eduardo and Jeanette Torres; daughters in law, Tchalla, Chelsia and Debra; grandchildren, Tasheen, Dalaysia, Jamel, Johnathan, Davone, Justin, Brandon, Yvette, Shelby and Elijah; siblings, Auria, Sony, Leyda, Rene, Angel Luis, Generoso, Solmaria, Alain, Remi, Delfin Jr. and Elba; nine sisters in law; two brothers in law and many nieces and nephews.

Catherine Thomas, a Rockaway resident for nearly 60 years, passed away on March 15. She was 92.
Thomas, who was born in Phila del phia, Pennsylvania, was a homemaker.
She is survived by a niece, Tiffany McBride as well as other family members and friends.
