Chi wa was, hamsters, a ferret and other mixed animals, along with some bunnies adorned in floral caps and spring coats and a Carmen Miranda get up all sauntered along the ramp while some rode by rickshaw or were held by owners. Whatever they did, it was cute and funny and entertaining. Flowers and plants and full blossomed colorful huge umbrellas that rained on plants below in Macy’s store as part of their annual Flower Festival brought out the realization that Passover, spring and Easter are finally here. Happy Easter and Passover and spring to everyone.

Caught the survival of Broadway’s" Sly Fox" by Larry Gilbert that just opened with Richard Dreyfus, Eric Stoltz and Bob Dishy Jeff Talbot who plays 1st policeman is a comic scene stealer in the second act. An oldie re vival, but a goodie .It is about one man outfoxing his greedy friends to leave him with the last and best laugh.

Very clever! Not quite on Broadway, but almost at the Manhattan Theatre Club, a new play," Between Us" by Hortura is a reality play about marriage and a close couple; forgiveness and magnanimous acts. Superb acting that catches you in the web of their emotions and holds you there. Mag nificently performed by: Kate Jenn ings Grant, David Harbour, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Bradley White.. They were all excellent. Very, very good. Truly enjoyed every minute.

May 6 is opening night for Neil La Bute’s "The Distance is Here" at The Duke, 229 West 42 St. only till Sat. June 5. It is about jealousy that runs amok in a suburban wasteland of truant children and bad parents.

The Textile Show was in town and products from JWS were outstanding such as their rugs and novelty items and can be found at 298 Fifth Ave. Rm 812. Some new textiles being made are stain proof, elastic and wash and wear. Little dry cleaning for most clothes, which is a blessing for those not in the cleaning business.

Mirassou wines from San Jose, Ca. offered a beautiful tasting and sit down dinner to the press at the New York Historical Society. This is a sixth generation family winery for David Mirassou, Sales Manager who gave a short talk and introduced the honorary guest, Emily Post’s great granddaughter, who, though not a blood relation, but an in-law, is continuing the tradition of the Emily Post good manners syndicated column. ( Pix in forthcoming column will follow). The Mirassou wines are outstanding and delicious ………so smooth and acid free due to a special process this company has perfected. The Cabernet and Pinot Noir, were my favorites.
