‘Small, Smaller Smallest’ Coming March 28
What is it they say about great things coming in small packages? "small, smaller, smallest: An Exhibi tion of Miniatures and Small Works" showcases diverse artworks done on an intimate scale. By the very nature of their size, these "gems" draw the viewer into their beauty, strength and fascination. Rockaway Artists Alliance presents "small, smaller, smallest" from March 27 through April 25 at sTudio 6 Gallery located in the Rock away Center for the Arts (RoCA) in Fort Tilden/Gateway National Recrea tion Area in Rockaway, Queens, NY. Admission is free. The wine and cheese reception is Sunday, March 28 from 1-3 p.m.
Gallery hours are Saturdays 12-5 p.m. and Sundays 1-4 p.m.. "s, s, s" is presented in partnership with the National Park Service/ Gateway National Recreation Area.
The works range from a delicately mini aturized art gallery to white porcelain "beasties" of intriguing origin to figurative sensual sculptures to evocative and powerful seascapes, landscapes and abstracts to finely-made jewelry and hand-pressed prints.
The juror for "small, smaller, smallest" is Rudy Shepherd, an artist, curator and educator living in New York City.A0 He has organized exhibitions at the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, The Queens Museum of Art and juried Scholastic’s National Art & Writing Awards.
