P.S. 106 Makes Most Improved Schools List
P.S. 106 has made the New York State Education Department’s lists of most improved schools in both English and math. In order for a school to make these lists, the school must have shown greater than 20% improvement in students meeting standards (on grade 4 state exams) over a four year period (1999-2003) and must currently have more than 50% of the students meeting standards. This is the second consecutive year that P.S. 106 has made both lists and is the only school in District 27 to achieve this both years. The principal of P.S. 106 is Arthur Straus and the assistant principal is B’jai Pierce.
