Mother, Son Found Dead In Apartment
A Far Rockaway woman and her foster child were found dead inside their Wavecrest Gardens apartment Tues day morning – police say the woman became ill and collapsed on the child several days earlier.
Police officers from the 101 Precinct found Roslin Hines, 51, and her 3-year-old son, Robbie, dead at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Concerned neighbors had contacted building personnel and police because they had not seen Roslin in days.
At first, authorities were not sure how both victims died, but said it did not look like a homicide or suicide.
It was later reported that Roslin, who weighed 200-300lbs, had a heart attack or Asthmatic attack and collapsed on Robbie as she was giving him a bath in their basement apartment.
Hines leaves behind a son, Alfred, 34, and a daughter, Natasha, 25.
