Kearney Inducts Honor Society Members
Two hundred seventy-four students were inducted into the Mater Dei Chapter of the National Honor Society recently. One hundred five senior received permanent membership, 97 juniors and 72 sophomores were granted one-year membership during a solemn ceremony. Bishop Kearney’s Principal, Sister Thomasine Stagnitta, CSJ, presented each girl with her membership card and each received a rose from Janet Bodlovic, moderator of the chapter.
Bodlovic installed the senior officers: Megan Kozhimala, who spoke of service; Bridget McNulty, who spoke about scholarship; Courtney Cruz, who spoke of leadership and Alexandra DeMeglio who spoke about character. The ceremony ended with an inspiring address by Patricia Hynes-Farragher of Belle Harbor and a member of Kearney’s physical education department.
