PHC Appoints Sulik As Director Of External Affairs
Robert V. Levine, President and Chief Executive Officer at Peninsula Hospital Center (PHC) recently an nounced the appointment of Liz Sulik as Director of External Affairs at PHC. "We are delighted to have Liz join our administrative team," said Levine. "Her extensive experience and knowledge of our community will help us to further strengthen the clinical activities of Peninsula Hospital Center as well as our public health and medical programs for the residents of the Rock aways and our neighboring com munities."
Sulik received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Gus-tavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Min nesota. She has served most re cently as the Executive Director of the Rock away Chamber of Commerce. Under her leadership, the Chamber was able to secure Federal, State and City grants for the design and construction of a Jamaica Bay waterfront park (Tribute Park) and for the development of economic development programs for the entire Rock away Penin sula. Prior to assuming the position of Executive Director, Sulik served as President of the Chamber during the difficult days following 9/11 and the tragedy of AA Flight 587. Under her leadership, the Chamber of Commerce spearheaded the 9/11 relief efforts for the Rockaway community.
An active member of the Board of Directors of the 100 Precinct Com munity Council, Sulik participates in the organization of the annual Co mmunity Cruises, fireworks fundraising events, annual Breakfasts with Santa and National Night Out Against Crime.
Sulik was one of the founding members of the St. John’s Residence for Boys Community Advisory Council and continues her involvement in that organization. She is a member of the Queens Borough President’s Rock away Task Force, a member of Com munity Board #14 and serves as co-chair of its Economic Development Committee. She serves as a member of the development team spearheaded by Senator Malcolm Smith to improve the Arverne commercial strip and also remains active in the Rockaway Cham ber of Commerce particularly in the development and construction of Tribute Park.
