The results of the RAA election in just a moment. First85

Rockaway Artists Alliance (RAA) is offering a basic linoleum block printmaking workshop. The workshop will be held on Sunday, March 21 from 10 AM to 1 p.m., in sTudio 6 Gallery, Rock away Center for the Arts in Fort Tilden, Gateway National Recreation Area, Rockaway, Queens, NY. Materi als will be supplied. The instructor is artist/print maker Cindy Rosin. Every one will carve and then print from his/her own linoleum block, so bring your de sign ideas. As the setting for the workshop, on display in sTudio 6 Gallery is "Pressed And Pulled: A Juried Printmaking Exhibition."

So85we have once again extended "Pressed And Pulled." It will run through Sunday, March 21. Gallery hours are Saturdays 12-5 p.m. and Sundays 1-4 p.m.

Election Results at the March 8 General Meeting: Terms are for two years and are staggered, so not all officers and board members run at each election.

Geoff Rawling was re-elected Pres ident.

Mary Kelly was elected Secretary.

The six board members who were elected are: Norma Allende, Nora Funaro, Tom Graves (all are new to the board) and Patrick Clark, Susan Hartenstein, Kate Judge (all re-elected).

Allow me to introduce you to the newest members:

Norma Allende is a sculptor, stained glass artist and arts educator who received degrees from universities in Argentina and the United States. She has extensive experience not only as an exhibiting artist and educator, but also in managing and publicizing a gallery. She was a founding member of the Brooklyn Artisans Gallery. She has been an active volunteer in non-profit organizations. She has filled a variety of roles as an active member of the Publicity and Exhibitions Com mittee of the RAA. Norma be lieves that the development of peace, culture and education are essential to building a better world.

Nora Funaro has lived with her family in Breezy Point for almost two years. She is an attorney and has four years experience serving on another board of directors. Nora is a colored pencil artist of im mense talent and was awarded an ARTSPLASH 2002 Prize for Excellence. "An active arts association like RAA," she states, "is an integral part of the cultural fabric of the Rockaways."

Tom Graves has been a professional computer programmer for 20 years with extensive knowledge of both hardware and software. He is a photographer whose work has appeared in RAA exhibitions. You may know Tom as a musician and member of the blues/rock band, The Blues Club.

Dome Redux: Glass artist and master craftsman Patrick Clark is holding a fundraiser to help build the Tribute Dome he is creating, to stand in Tribute Park in memory of the people of Rockaway who lost their lives in the World Trade Center disaster on 9/11. The date of the fundraiser is Saturday, March 13, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in sTudio 6 Gallery, Fort Tilden. The wine and cheese party will include a presentation about wines by Patrick, raffles, a 50/50 drawing and musical entertainment by Patrick and Linda, who will sing and play guitar. The dome’s mosaic floor, which has already been cut, will be laid out on display at the event.

Tickets are available for a $20 donation (or more), children ad mitted at no charge with a parent.

Tickets are available at the RAA office, The Wave office, the Sunset Diner on 116 Street, Ciro’s Bakery on 129 Street and West End Realty on 116 Street and at the door of sTudio 6 on Sat urday. Come help build the Dome.
