Research Opportunities For Medical Students

State Senator Malcolm A. has an nounced that Albany Medical College has established PREP: Addressing Health Disparities to provide minority students and students from medically underserved areas the opportunity to study at one of the nation’s most prestigious medical schools.

Senator Smith said, "PREP stand for ‘Post-Baccalaureate Research Educa tion Program,’ and is designed to in crease the number of minorities who go to graduate school in order to earn their Ph.D. or Ph.D./M.D. Stud ents will do research on diseases that disproportionately affect minorities and the medically underserved."

Participants will be employed as Re search Apprentices, and will be ac tive ly engaged in meaningful re search, work ing with their mentors, who are faculty members in the interdisciplin ary research centers of Al bany Medi cal College’s Graduate Studies Program.
