Senator Smith Pushes MWBE Program

State Senator Malcolm A. Smith has announced that the New York State Department of Economic Development is inviting eligible organizations to submit proposals to administer a re volving trust fund account for the Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) Program.

A completed request for proposal (RFP) must be received no later than 5:30 p.m. on March 4, 2004 for those who want to enter the program.

The selected organization will make low-cost working capital and fixed assets loans available to local qualified minority and women-owned business. Empire State Development will grant up to $150,000, of which $25,000 may be used toward administrative expenses.
