Didn’t you think the Super Bowl was a Football Game? Well, not until the 2004 game, Patriots vs. Panthers in Houston. At half time I thought I was watching the Oscars or Golden Globe Awards and Janet Jackson was acclaimed "Best Breast."

Pretty shocking and pretty pathetic that Janet Jackson had to stoop that low as to expose her breast in front of all those people in the stadium and on National Television (without pre-an nounced warning of objectionable material for families). Isn’t her brother Michael getting enough publicity to ricochet back to her to cover her newly-launched CD? Guess they both believe good or bad publicity is better than no publicity. Even the half time entertainment wasn’t that good. Regardless, the game was exciting and that is supposed to be the main reason for watching. Hope you enjoyed it. And, hopefully, next year we’ll watch another Super Bowl that will keep us "Breastless".

Oh, warm weather and sunshine, where are you? Really tired of bitter cold, snow and slush. However, it all doesn’t put a damper on the happenings around the city.

For you Jazz buffs an all day concert of Jazz was held at the New York Hilton with an evening cocktail reception and Awards concert. The 2004 NEA Jazz Masters awards went to: Chico Hamilton, Herbie Hancock, Nancy Wilson, Jim Hall, Nat Hentoff, Luther Henderson. It was a Jazzy, Jazzy affair sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. Call the NEA if you are interested in attending next year.

At the St. Regis Roof, Orient-Express Hotels reintroduced the travel agents to their properties around the world.

One of the newest was the beautiful Westcliff Hotel in Jo-burg, where I stayed. I was happy to see Mr. Seward, the MD of all South Africa Hotels, especially the Mount Nelson in Cape Town that also hosted me when I videotaped my "Travels in Style to South Africa" show which will be coming onto the Cable system soon for all to see.

Met Kelsey Grammer of Frasier and Cheers. Just love that guy and his shows. He looks so thin in person. Guys and Dolls music could be heard as I entered the reception at Harry Winston held as a preview for" An Evening of Music from Guys and Dolls" to benefit the Iris Cantor Women’s Health Center on Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 in the Imperial Ball room of the Sheraton Hotel. Cocktails at 6:30, Dinner, 7:30 PM followed by the show. Guest Stars: Tony Bennett. Delta Burke, Dock Latessa, Vanessa Williams Frederico Castelluccio and many more will be there. It was a snowy, snowy evening at Harry Win ston’s. Many of the usually elegantly attired guests were covered up more than usual with warm clothes and boots to brace the bitter elements outside. However, it was still an elegant affair and we all enjoyed viewing the magnificent and brilliant jewels. If interested in attending the Feb. 23 event call the Weill Cornel Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hos pital.

Speaking of jewelry, at the Jacob Javit’s Center the annual Jewelry show was in progress and on the Red Carpet Tour I viewed the brilliant baubles worn by Katie Couric, Renee Zilweger, Sharon Stone, Joan Rivers, Oprah Winfrey and Sarah Jessica Parker at some of their premier events85

Bruce Angle found a healing mission at the Freedom Fellowship in the 90s in Rockaway. According to Bruce they are doing a super job helping addicts, prisoners, those in poor health with HIV Aids, depression, diabetes, no matter their religious denomination, color ethnic background or monetary status. If you know anyone who needs help send them over there.

Are you aware of the Mail and Ride Reduced Unlimited Metro Card? This card is fantastic! A little over a dollar a day is automatically taken out of your checking or credit card account each month and in turn, this card enables you to ride as many buses and subways a day as you wish... However, I had the misfortune of my card becoming defective. I turned it in, in person, with no temporary card issued to me and was told I would receive a new card within ten days. Ten days went by several times and when I called they had no record of my return transaction. I was then told another card would be processed and sent out. Another two weeks went by. Finally, when I got the card it worked one day and was then cancelled. You can imagine my frustrations. I called, sent them letters and finally, finally I got a card that works. It is a great card, but, God forbid you lose it or it becomes defective. The have apologized and promised they will correct their errors to prevent a situation like this from happening again. Do get the card, though.
