Shulman, Cigliano Join SJEH Staff
Two physicians recently joined the medical staff of St. John’s Episcopal Hospital Ambulatory Care Center.
Pavel Shulman, MD, has been appointed attending-in-charge of the medical clinic at the Ambulatory Care Center. In addition to his medical responsibilities at the medical clinic, he also supervises and teaches medical residents. St. John’s post-graduate medical education program is affiliated with State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn.
Dr. Shulman said that his goals at St. John’s are "to become closer to the patients and accommodate the special needs of our patients through better utilization of the Hospital’s resources."
Dr. Shulman is a graduate of the Azerbijan Medical School, in Azerbian of the former USSR. He completed his medical residency in 1995 at St. John’s. Board certified in internal medicine, he specializes in primary care.
Mary A. Cigliano, DO, is a specialist in osteopathic manipulative medicine. Osteopathic manipulative medicine is based on the philosophy that the body can heal itself once obstructions to the body’s own healing forces are removed via "hands on" manipulative techniques. These techniques treat the musculoskeletal system, as well as bones, muscles, ligaments, tendon and fascia. Dr. Cigliano is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in family practice at St. John’s. She is board certified in family practice. She studied osteopathic manipulation under the well-known physicians Viola Frymann, DO and Anthony Capabiano, DO. She has a practice at the Ambulatory Care Center and JASA Medical CLinical, as well as a private practice in Long Beach.
