Rockaway Lacrosse Travels

Rockaway Lacrosse Travels

Coaches Greg Carter and Dan Kirk are headed to Philadelphia this weekend for the US Lacrosse National Convention, which is being held at the Philadelphia Marriott Convention Center. Thousands of coaches and players from across the nation will assemble here to attend clinics presented by the experts in the field of Lacrosse.

The Rockaway Youth Lacrosse Team, has just completed a five week instructional school given by Brook Sweet, two time All-American Lacrosse Champion and founder of the Long Island Lacrosse School. Beginning Saturday, January 24, members of the team will be matched up with teams from Levittown, Lynbrook and Wantagh to compete in matches at the Oceanside arena. Everyone is looking forward to the Spring season when Rockaway will hopefully host some Long Island teams in games here at Beach Channel High School. The team of 14 players have come a long way from their first encounter with this
ancient sport and it is hopeful that more players will come out this Spring to join in this fast moving, growing and fun sport.
