On Tuesday, December 23, students from Yeshiva of Belle Harbor, Belle Harbor Jewish Day School, celebrated the festival of Chanukah with the Jewish residents at the Promenade Rehabilitation Center and the Peninsula Extended Care and Rehabilitation center. Students in grades 3 through 5, joined by their teachers and choir director, inspired the residents with Chanukah melodies. The residents enjoyed the wonderful performance by the Yeshiva choir, as it had greatly enhanced their Chanukah holiday. The children brought with them donuts (a traditional Chanukah food), as well as Chanukah art projects that they have prepared in school, as gifts for the residents.
