Rockaway Lacrosse Joins With Levittown For Win

Boys from the Rockaway Lacrosse Team join forces with Levittown players to spank Lynbrook during a meet last Saturday in Oceanside. Picured above is Seamus Kirk (yellow jersey) facing off against Lynbrook opponent. Seamus played goalie for the second half, replacing Daniel Buckley who did an excellent job at his first time in the crease. Other members of the team in attendance were Sean Cummins, Evan Flynn, Timothy Flynn, Joesph McGowan, Kieran Ross, Max Lindon, Robert Peters and Nicholas Compagnone. Nick scored his first goal in competition play, with an assist by Robert Peters.

The team will complete a five week training course given by the Long Island Lacrosse School headed by Brooks Sweet this coming Saturday at the Point Set Club in Oceanside.  Some of the team will be attending a clinc on January 19th at West Point put on by the U. S. Lacrosse Team. The team is hoping to compete this spring against Long Island teams after spending the past fall and winter in clinic and practice sessions. With a current roster of 14 boys, the team is ready for competition, but could always use some more players, so if you would like to try your hand at this ancient sport give us a call at 718-474-5521.
