Chancellor Klein Visits Belle Harbor School

Chancellor Klein Visits Belle Harbor School

Joel Klein, the Chancellor for the New York City Department of Education, listens, as First Grader Kayla makes her point, during the Chancellor’s impromtu visit to P.S.114Q Teacher Nancy S. Koven’s First Grade Class 1-212, on November 13th, 2003. The Chancellor had earlier sat in on Teacher Ron Geron’s Upper Grades Laptop Computer Class, where Mr. Klein, himself, eagerly participated in the "motivation" preceeding Mr. Gerson’s Learning Objective ("L.O."):  "We shall utilize the Boolean Method to Narrow Search Engine Results" (Standards Elc and T3).  The Chancellor reminded us, that, based on his personal experince, "Every problem usually has a solution:  Go out and find it!"  At our Belle Harbor School - P.S. 114Q, we apply that same rationale, every day.
