Christmas is coming and so is the 19th Annual St. Francis de Sales Christmas Tournament.

We are going to have 40 plus teams from 3rd to 8th grade (double elimination). Tip-off is on Friday December 12th at 5:45 with three games to follow. 

Eight games will be played on Saturday the 13th with the first game starting at noon. Games will also begin at noon on Sunday the 14th with 7 games on that day. The Tourney will run Monday through Friday ending on the 27th with weekday games starting at 5:45PM.

The Championships will be December 27th (first game at noon). There will be a special awards ceremony at 2:30PM in honor of past and present community leaders.

The 3rd Grade Awards will be in honor of Rev. Louis DeGaetano, Danny Onorato, Sister Patricia, and Mike Andrews. The 4th Grade Awards will be given in honor of Peter McManus Sr., Richie "Dick" Bogart, John Cunneen, and Jim McKeon. The 5th Grade Awards will be given in honor of Chris Lawler, Walter Blum, Kathy Lawler and Sean O’Hagan. The 6th Grade Awards will be given in honor of Monsignor Geraghty, Charlie Heeran, Sister Margaret, and Marty Andresen. The 7th Grade Awards will be given in honor of Richie Allen, Walter Hynes, Chet McNulty and Tim Stackpole. The the 8th Grade Awards will be given in honor of Joe DeMarco, Joe Kenel Sr., Jack Collins, and Teddy Marshall. 

The Tournament Committee consists of Martin Andresen, Jim McKeon, Monsignor Geraghty, Fr. Lou, Keith Andresen, and Vinny Esposito.  Special thanks also goes to Jim Morley for his hard work, the great Jack Bender and the innovative Shelly Plock for their invaluable assistance in program creation and development. 

The teams for the Tournament this year are extremely competitive as always. Excellent team from Northern Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island as well as our own SFDS teams will compete this year for the most coveted Tournament Trophy in all of NYC.
