Pottery By Susan Open For Holiday Season

As the holidays quickly approach, residents in the Rockaway community are sprucing up, decorating and lighting up their homes and streets.

Holiday shopping is high on the list of things to do, and no one wants to wait until the eleventh hour to select a special gift for that special person.

For the twelfth holiday season The Crafts Shop at the studios of Pottery by Susan will open on Saturday, December 13, from 11a.m. to 5p.m., offering hand made pottery, weaving, glass, and jewelry for sale. Meet the artists and choose a gift that will be treasured.

Susan Locke opened the pottery studio, located on the third floor in the historic Wave building, in 1991. Pottery production started immediately and Locke’s pottery began to sell in stores and galleries around New York City and the country. The studio is now home to the glass and sculpture studio of Norma Allende, metal and paper studio of Cecile Kops and seasonally, the clay studio of Angella Brown of Jamaica.

In addition to the work of these artists, The Crafts Shop will also offer weaving by Elizabeth Connolly and the costume jewelry sold by Tamara of Twinkles.

The Crafts Shop of Pottery by Susan, located on the street level in The Wave building at 88-08 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, will be open for your holiday shopping on Saturday December 13 from 11a.m. to 4p.m. During the week the shop can be accessed through the offices of The Wave.
